Sacristans assist in the preparation of the worship space for liturgies. Responsibilities include the care and preparation of the sacred vessels, placement of the gifts, and ensuring all ministers are in place before Masses. This requires a commitment to arrive about 30 minutes early for Mass and staying a few minutes after to oversee that the sacred vessels are cleaned and put away.
Becoming a Sacristan: This ministry is open to Adults, couples and families (as long as parents are present with the children). The parish will provide training in this ministry. Please watch the bulletin or listen to mass announcements for training opportunities. Sacristans are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Current Sacristans: Thank you for your dedication to your ministry! Make sure you check the current month's ministry schedule (link). If you are unable to serve at your scheduled time, please find a substitute.
Questions: If you need a substitute listing or have questions about this ministry, please contact Sherri Hunt, Liturgy Coordinator at 276-2059, x133 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
