We are blessed to have many different groups at St. Pius X, each with their own unique style and sound. Each groups is commited to providing quality music deeply rooted in prayer.
Celebration Singers began more than 20 years ago at St. Pius X. Their goal is to assist the Congregation in sung worship at Mass, and to celebrate life, love and joy in our Lord through their songs! Celebration Singers typically sing most Sunday 9am Masses, some Saturday 5pm Masses, and rehearses on Thursdays at 7pm in the church. Pelase contact Sue Solinger for more information.
This group is for guitarists and other instrumentalists wanting to share their talents! The guitar group plays two times a month during Saturday evening Masses and typically rehearses on Thursdays at 7pm in the St. Cecilia room. Please contact Jack Barron for more information about this group.
The SPX Worship Group consists of vocalists and instrumentalists who want to praise God through music. The Worship Group uses more contemporary music and the group sings and plays in a worship band style. They also leads praise and worship before 5pm Mass each Sunday evening. This group rehearses on Sundays at 3pm before Mass and is open to all 9th grade and older. Contact Christian Stillings for more information.
Cantors and accompanists are needed when our larger choirs are unavailable or during weddings and funerals . We typically have 2 masses a week that require a cantor and accompanist.
Cantors are singers that lead the congregation in hymns and songs. They also proclaim certain parts of the masses such as the psalm and gospel acclamation.
Accompanists are pianists, organists, or guitarists that support the singers and congregation with accompanying music. They provide introductions to songs and mass settings in addition to sometimes providing solo instrumental music if necessary.
If you are interested in serving as an accompanist or cantor, please contact Christian Stillings for more information.
Instrumentalists are needed to support the basic singer/accompanist setting. Bass guitars, drums, strings and wind instruments are a great addition to the liturgy, especially during larger mass celebrations. We are always looking for quality instrumentalists who are willing to share their gifts with the parish. Contact Christian Stillings for more information.
